HDMGlobal offers three levels of course accreditation to external training providers. These are listed:
Level I (Bronze) : The course scope and lecture plan has been reviewed by an experienced HDM-4 practitioner and meets the minimum requirements expected from an accredited HDM-4 Version 2 course.
Level II (Silver) : as Level I plus the staff delivering the course are recognised as having the minimum necessary experience of using HDM-4 software and training skills.
Level III (Gold) : as Level I & II plus a comprehensive review of the lecture notes and handout materials to ensure they meet the minimum standard expected.

HDM-4 Version 2 Training course at University of Birmingham, UK : 1st-5th September 2008
A course lead by Dr J. B. Odoki is being planned for 1st-5th September 2008. The course will be held at the School of Civil Engineering, The University of Birmingham (map).
Price: £1350 (price includes day-time refreshments, including lunch, and course materials)
Accommodation for the duration of the course can be booked at the University's Conference Park on a bed and breakfast basis.
The course will be a practical introduction HDM-4 Version 2. The final time-table is under revision and will be available shortly.
Availability:
There are a limited number of places that will be allocated on a a first-come, first served basis.
Requirements: Course participants will need to bring a laptop computer for use during the practical sessions of the course. HDM-4 Version 2 software can be installed for the duration of the course if required.
HDM-4 Training course at ENPC-Ponts Formation Edition - Paris, France: 17th Nov 2008 - -28th Nov 2008
This course is aimed:
- at specialist teams who are in charge of implementing the HDM-4 model for road studies
- Road engineers who have an experience of road maintenance and basic economics.
- Economics or planners who have a good knowledge on road characteristics and maintenance.
Participants must be completely familiar with computer use and Window.
At the end of the course, the trainees will know the theoretical basis of the HDM-4 model and will be able to use it :
- to define an optimal strategy for investment and maintenance,
- to compare various solutions for a road project,
- to define a roadwork programme.
Training will be based on the actual use of the latest version of the software (HDM-4 Version 2.0).

HDM-4 Training course at CRRI - India : 8th-19th October 2007
CRRI team shall conduct next HDM-4 Training program from 8 th October to 19 th October 2007.
Foundation lectures on HDM-4 data collection, road deterioration, pavement maintenance methods simulation models, pavement management, traffic estimation, asset management and economic evaluation will be delivered for first two days by the experts, which are the basic requirements for using HDM-4. Next eight days will be devoted for the development of operational Skill in HDM-4 and case studies through brief presentations, spreadsheet analysis, hands-on, tutorials and one to one interaction. Special topics such as model calibration, strategy and program analysis will also be covered. Features added in version 2 of HDM-4 will be explained and demonstrated.
Course Fee is Rs. 25,000/- for SAARC country participants. Course Fee for the participants from other countries is USD 700.

HDM-4 Version 2 Seminar and Training course by ARRB (HDMGlobal Partners) : 5th - 9th March 2007
ARRB (HDMGlobal Partners) are offering the following:
one day seminar for managers, planners, policy makers and HDM-4 users, and
three and a half day 'hands on' training course for new and current users of HDM-4.
The HDM-4 version 2 seminar and training course will be held at ARRB, Melbourne, Australia from 5th to 9th March 2007. A map for the location and directions to ARRB can be downloaded from the ARRB website.
The seminar and training
course will be delivered by presenters drawn from a team of ARRB HDM-4
specialists experienced in investment planning and asset management
covering the various applications of the tool, and in system implementation.
The aims of the seminar and training course are:
To communicate a broad appreciation of the structure
and application of the HDM-4 Version 2 road investment tool
and apply it in varying situations.
To explain and apply good practice in configuring,
adapting and operating HDM-4 for use in standards and
strategy development, the preparation of prioritised
works programs and in project appraisal, having
established an appreciation of the underlying principles,
models and data strategies.
To analyse institutional needs and develop and deliver
appropriate advice and training programs aimed at
achieving sustainable operation of HDM-4 and related
decision support tools. This will involve not only the
trainers experiences but will include encouraging
participants to contrubute directly through the
development of case studies of their own choice, and
bring their own particular issues and experiences for
discussion and, in some cases, resolution.

HDM-4 Training course at CRRI - India : 4th-17th October 2006
International course on the Dissemination of HDM-4
Central Road Research Institute, New Delhi conducts this course at CRRI, India for effective use of HDM- 4 in Highway projects. Transport Infrastructure Division of the World Bank, Washington. PIARC, Transport Research Laboratory UK and Australian Road Research Board and other agencies recognize this programme and send observers and experts during the programme. Senior executives, economists and planners who are actively associated in road planning, construction and maintenance activities in their respective countries in the Asia-Pacific Region are recommended to take part in this course.
