Symptoms:

When trying to register the software to receive an unlock code you receive the following error message:

Cause :

The ERIS software protection system, licenced for use in HDM-4 Version 2 from TRL Software, is used to protect the licence conditions of HDM-4 Version 2.05 onwards. The ERIS system requires that the user has Administrator rights to generate and register the unlock codes.

Solution :

You should either contact your IT department to obtain Administrator rights for your user name on the computer, or start the HDM-4 software as an administrator.

To run the software as an Administrator select the “HDM-4 Version 2” application from the menu and right click to bring up the contect sensitive menu as shown below – and then select “run as administrator”. 

You should now be able to successfully generate the registration code and apply the unlock code when obtained.
